ترك الشرق

23.11. 2021 (Khartoum) A source in the Beja Council said that the Higher Coordination of Eastern Sudan Entities has nominated Muhammad Al-Amin Turk as its   candidate for the seat of Eastern Sudan in the Sovereignty Council.

The source revealed to Darfur 24 a meeting between leaders from eastern Sudan and the  commander-in-chief of the army; Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan proposed the candidacy of Turk, and the source continued that Al-Burhan expressed initial reservations about the nominations of tribal leaders in general.

The tribal leader led widespread protests in eastern Sudan in mid-September and closed the ports and the national road linking the city of port Sudan with the rest of the country, calling for the dissolution of Hamdok’s government. Turk is widely seen as a staunch ally of the military component. Turk rushed to declare his support for the coup of Al-Burhan hours later.
