Nyala, June 5(Darfur24) Police forces in South Darfur have seized a
container packed with drugs, estimated at 30,000 quintals, of
cannabis, and three cars, including two Land Cruisers cars bearing
military plates, in Almatar neighborhood in Nyala, capital of South
Darfur, western Sudan.
According to South Darfur Police Director Major General Mohamed Ahmed
Abdullah, the operation began at three in the morning, Sunday, with a
raid preceded by monitoring and follow-up operations of the house of
the main suspect “A / A” while he was trying to escape in an Avanti
car, after the arrest of four other individuals while they were
rotating guarding the container.
Al-Zein said that these drugs are intended for distribution outside
the state, and according to the monitoring of the Darfur 24
correspondent, the defendants were seized with a group of heavy and
light weapons, clothing and military equipment , and more than 21
million SDG.
