El-Geneina, June 17(Darfur24)  The government of West Darfur said, on
Thursday, that it had sent joint forces to reinforce security in
Kulbus area, which witnessed a bloody conflict between Qimir and
Rizeigat tribes  this week.

The locality of Kulbus witnessed bloody incidents between the Rizeigat
and Qimir tribes, due to a conflict over  land ownership, where dozens
were killed and thousands were displaced, as a number of villages were
burned.

State Police Director Major General Ismail Khareef said that the
Security Committee had sent 98 Land Cruisers equipped with joint
forces from the army, police, rapid support, central reserve, security
and intelligence to enhance the security situation in the area.
He revealed arrangements for the state government to visit the
affected areas in Kulbus, to find out the conditions of those affected
and the security situation prevailing in the area.

The director of the state police, the rapporteur of the Security
Committee, explained that the meeting discussed the security and
humanitarian conditions following the events, and the meeting
concluded a number of decisions, including the formation of a
committee to account for material and human losses and directing the
Humanitarian Aid Commission to provide urgent humanitarian aid to
those affected.
