Kordofan, September 13(Darfur24) Tribal fighting  between the Misseriya and Hamar tribes on Monday in Abu Zabad area  of West Kordofan state over land dispute left 5 people dead and many more wounded.

 Meanwhile, the West Kordofan State Security Committee issued a decision banning public gatherings and imposed curfews in the city of Abu Zabad from five in the evening on Monday, until six in the morning.

West Kordofan Police Director Major General Ihab Abdel Hamid Abdel Aal told the Sudanese News Agency SUNA that the incident ocured  as a result of the repercussions of the decision to freeze the demarcation of the border between the localities of Al-Sinout and Al-Nuhud, describing the tribal clashes as unfortunate.

He stated that the Security Committee is in a permanent session following up on the incidents and working in coordination with the local security committee  of Abu Zabad , taking decisive actions to stop fighting   and end  tension.

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, issued a decree early September, freezing  border demarcation  between the localities of Al-Sunut and Al-Nuhud.
