Khartoum, February 12 (Darfur24)The United Nations has revealed that health sector partners in Sudan have provided medicine and medical supplies to more than 5 million citizens over the past year.

 

According to a press release from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, OCHA, in 2022, health sector partners in Sudan provided medicines and medical supplies to 5.6 million across Sudan, including 3.6 million in Darfur, representing (65) percent of the total assistance in the country.

 

The report indicated that 1 in every 3 people receive medicines and medical supplies from the World Health Organization, UNICEF and international and national non-governmental organizations across Sudan.

 

During 2022, health sector partners received $89.8 million from donors under the Human Resources 2022 Programme, which equates to 63.7 percent of the total needs ($141.1 million), according to the Financial Tracking Service.
