Khartoum, April 1(Darfur24) The civilian  leaders and military commanders   affiliated with the current political process  in Sudan decided to redouble efforts within a few days to overcome the remaining obstacle in preparation for the signing of the final political agreement on the sixth of this April.

 

A meeting was held in the Republican Palace – on Saturday – that included Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Daglo, and the leaders of the civil forces that signed the framework agreement and the tripartite mechanism consisting of the African Union, IGAD and the United Nations Integrated Mission “UNTAMS”.

 

According to the official spokesman for the political process, the meeting reviewed the progress in the ongoing discussions to reach the final political agreement, and that the meeting identified the last remaining issues, which are the technical issues related to the stages of reform, integration and modernization in the security and military sector.

 

The statement of the spokesman for the political process, which Darfur 24 reviewed, stated that the meeting decided unanimously by the military and civilian parties to redouble efforts to overcome the remaining obstacle within a few days, in preparation for the signing of the final political agreement on the sixth of April.
