Khartoum, April 3(Darfur24) The director of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company revealed that 190 gold miners were killed and 112 others injured during the year 2022 .
Speaking to reporters at the ministry of information platform, Ardol said the year 2022 witnessed the death of about 190 miners working in traditional mining, “There is no one among the killed miners working in the factories of Sudanese mining company.” Ardol added.
Mubarak explained that Sudan’s production of gold exceeded 40 tons in the year 2022.
He added that gold production amounted to 41.8 tons in 2022, indicating that 91% of Sudan’s area is not exploited for mining.
Mubarak mentioned that gold revenues last year amounted to 150.9 billion pounds, about (253) million dollars.
He pointed out that the revenues came below the target level of 190 billion pounds.
