Khartoum, 11October ( Darfur 24)The gathering of heads of public university councils has refused the decision of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Higher Education to resume study in the stable states no later than the end of this October.

The association of State universities justified its rejection that the authorities that issued the decision to resume the study in universities lack legitimacy and do not have the authority necessary to issue the decision.

In a statement seen by Darfur 24, the association demanded the necessity of preserving the course of education in all its stages, despite the difficult circumstances the country is going through.

The statement stated that the decision to resume the study was issued by the “Ministry of Higher Education” based on the decision of what was called the “designated cabinet”, which in turn was based on the directives of the “Sovereignty Council” and continued: All these bodies lack legitimacy and do not have any powers to issue such decisions.

According to the council the real and practical solution to continue the path of education is the immediate and complete endowment of this absurd war of absurdity that destroyed all aspects of life in the country, and displaced more than seven million Sudanese inside and outside the country, and most of them reside in these schools and universities that have become a safe haven and their only ceiling.

The council added, “The parties that issued the decision are unaware of the difficult circumstances that universities and schools are going through, their professors, their employees and their workers who have been without salaries since the beginning of the war, and they have no knowledge of the circumstances that Sudanese families will have to pay those exorbitant fees imposed by the university administration without approval or Consult to the councils ”

The council said that the decision to open universities is the insistence of the group of October 25, 2021 to continue to demolish the independence of universities and higher institutes, ignore their institutions and deal with them as primary schools.

The body stressed that the university councils, their departments and their professors’ gatherings are the only authorities authorized and qualified to take such decisions, which must not be subject to attempts to cheap political gain in any way.
