On Thursday, the committee for removing empowerment of former regime, issued a number of decisions, on top of which is the dissolution of the Sudanese Banking Union, and formation of a committee to combat corruption in the electricity sector.
The Empowerment Committee announced in a statement Thursday that the formed sub-committee will work to review the accounts and financial statements of electricity sector companies, during the past years. Also, the committee will be reviewing the companies’ conformity with local and global financial and accounting standards.
In a related development, It will also review the leading positions , and all projects and contracts that have been implemented or under implementation, to ensure their conformity with local and international standards.
The Anti-Corruption and Refund Commission will also be reviewing a number of important files. It is expected to complete its work in the coming days.
