March 3, 2020(Khartoum) The head of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, acknowledged that residents of Darfur suffered great harm during the war, and that they should be provided with a decent life, calling on the native administrations in Darfur, to contribute to the rule of law and fight negative phenomena ,in a manner that preserves rights and duties by developing laws and customs.
Addressing Darfuri leaders of Native administration from Zaghawa, Fur and Arab tribes at the republican palace Tuesday, Alburhan ,said the government is keen to remove all obstacles that hinder the return of refugees and displaced persons to their villages and make them productive and active citizens in their societies.
Abdel Fatah pledged, to support the Native administrations, to enable them enhance their role as a long-standing patriotic heritage that contributed to the victory of the oppressed regime , urging them to correct misconceptions about the ownership of investable lands in Darfur in a manner that achieves safety for investors and motivates them to optimize the exploitation of natural resources, achieve development and stability, as well as putting the country’s interests ahead of the private ones .
The head of Sudan Sovereign council, said native administration represents the “heart beat of Sudan”, praising its great role in strengthening the social cohesion between the components of Darfur and sparing the country larger rifts that could have occurred in the region.
Regarding the Juba negotiations, the chairman of the Sovereign Council affirmed that negotiations between the government and armed struggle movements is aimed at achieving a real peace ,through legal foundations that lead to good governance.
For his part, representative of the Zaghawa tribe, Al-Shartai Adam Saby Al-Tijani, confirmed the tribes’ support for the transitional government, declaring their efforts to unify the native administrations and the tribes, and enhancing trust between them in order to consolidate stability in the states of Darfur, calling for attention to the issues of refugees and displaced persons.
In the same context, representative of the Arab tribes, Nazer Mahmoud Musa Madibou, stressed the necessity of renewing the intentions and determination to achieve unity and ties between the Darfur tribes, noting the efforts of the first deputy head of the Sovereign Council in this regard, calling for paying attention to the issues of development in Darfur and providing basic services through education methods and services.
However, representative of Fur tribe, Sultan Ahmed Hussein Ayoub Ali Dinar, praised the efforts of the transitional government to achieve peace and stability in the country, noting that the meeting aims to embody the unity of Darfur in this crucial stage.
