March 8, 2020 (Khartoum) Prime minister Hamdouk received at his office Sunday, the US Treasury Department delegation for counter-terrorism financing . However, the delegation is headed by Assistant Secretary Marshall Billingsley.
The meeting took place in the presence of Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Ambassador Omar Bashir Manis and State Minister Dr. Omar Qamar Al-Din.
The visitinhg US Treasury delegation has informed Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, that removing the name of Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism is a matter of time, revealing that there are committees in Washington working in this regard.
The meeting discussed the role of the United States of America in the framework of supporting and assisting the transitional government to implement its priorities and programs, especially in the areas of economy and peace.
The US Treasury delegation expressed its happiness with a visit to Sudan, explaining that financial and economic restrictions have been lifted from Sudan.
For his part, Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, affirmed that America is a strategic partner in working with Sudan to overcome the challenges that the country currently facing .
Hamdouk underscored that the transitional government is keen to achieve a comprehensive and just peace and improve the economic situation.
“We are proud of the Sudanese model, which is based on the partnership between civilians and the military to bring Sudan to safety and to lay the foundations for building a strong democratic system in the country” Concluded the Sudanes prime minster.
