April 2, 2020 (Juba) Negotiations between the government of Sudan and the Revolutionary Front Forces “RFF” will resume, Thursday, in the capital of the State of South Sudan, Juba.
It’s worthmentioning, that the Sudanese government and armed struggle movements suspended their negotiation last week, at the request of South Sudan mediation team, following the sudden death of Sudan’s defence minister in Juba, South Sudan.
Meanwhile, the mediation committee and the negotiating parties have agreed that the talks will be indirect during the first weeks of April, due to spread of Coronavirus.
Head of the South Sudan Government Mediation Committee, Tut Katalwak Manimi, said that the indirect dialoguehad started Wednesday.
“The mediation committee have received the visions of Darfur and the two regions(Blue & Southern Kordofan) separately on all outstanding issues, and sent them to the Sudanese government delegation in Khartoum to study and respond ” said Tut Katalwak Manimi . Chairman of the Mediation Committee appealed to the negotiating parties to take courageous decisions in order to reach a comprehensive and lasting peace. For his part, spokesman for the Revolutionary Front Forces, RFF Osama Saeed, Said that there were direct and indirect negotiations, and that the direct negotiations would take place after the exchange of correspondence between the two parties through the mediation. “continuation of indirect negotiations on the remaining issues, would accelerate the settlement of outstanding files” Saeed concluded.
