April 20 , 2020 (Khartoum) Darfur Bar Association( DBA) has called
for allocating no less than 30% of state governorship, and other state institutions’s posts to women.
However, DBA affirmed the necessity of observing efficiency standards during the appointment process , provided that the selection is made by a mechanism that represents the forces of the
revolution in the state, adding that the selection should be in accordance with a clear criteria, taking into account, administrative experience and sufficient knowledge of work environment.

In a statement seen by Darfur24, the association said “assigning civilian governors to manage affairs of states during this period ,does not in any way affect interest of any party”.In a realated development , the Association’s demand ,to replace the military governors with civilian ones comes at a time when the  Revolutionary Front considers the appointment of governors, including the Governor of Khartoum and the formation of the Legislative Council, as one package within the framework of reshaping all the institutions  of transitional authority, after peace.
