May 17, 2020 (Khartoum) The National Umma Party announced on Saturday,
its support for deployment of United Nations mission in Sudan under
Chapter VI.

AlSadiq al-Mahdi, leader of the party, said that he supported the
presence of the United Nations Mission in the country, to support
peace negotiations, capacity-building efforts, help mobilize
international economic support, consolidate the gains made in Darfur
and the two regions through peace -building efforts.
However, Almahdi, expressed his backing for UN mission   to coordinate
and conduct humanitarian aid in the east African country , alongside
providing  technical and material support for the disarmament,
demobilization and reintegration of the armed struggle movements.
In a statement seen by Darfur 24, Almahdi said he backs the  presence
of the United Nations Mission in Sudan, to support the voluntary
return of displaced persons and refugees to their areas of origin and
reintegrate them with civil reconciliation, and contribute to the
transition from humanitarian aid to supporting sustainable development
programs.
The leader of the National Umma Party, whose party  is one of the
components of the transitional government, rejected four points
mentioned in the letter of  Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk to the
UN Security Council on January 27, 2020.
The former prime minister,  announced that the Umma Party office in
Washington would  contact the concerned parties of the draft
resolution to avoid prejudice to the Sudanese national sovereignty
