May 26, 2020 (Khartoum) Sudan’s ministry of health has recorded 156
new cases of the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus known as
COVID-19.
This brings total number of infections in Sudan to 3976 since the
killer disease first emerged in Sudan.
“5 new fatalities have been reported in the country, lifting total of
death toll to 170” Ministry said in a statement.
However, 45 patients have recovered, raising number of recoveries to 503.
Since the virus emerged in China last December, it has spread to all
countries of the world.
The global death toll from the novel coronavirus has exceeded 300,000
with more than 5.12 million confirmed cases, and recoveries topping
1.96 million, according to a running tally by the US’ Johns Hopkins
University.
