May 28, 2020 (Khartoum) Committees within the US Congress agreed, during a closed briefing session, with virtual participation of Sudan’s Minister of Finance, Economic Planning, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badawi
and Sudanese minister of justice, Dr. Nasr Al-Din Abdul-Bari, on the need to support the transitional government in Sudan.
Speaking via video conference, Al-Badawi and Abd al-Barari, gave explanation on the  great progress made by the transitional government since it took power in September 2019.
However, Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badawi, focused on economic reforms and plans, and noted the impact of Sudan’s presence on the list of state sponsors of terrorism on the economy and donor
financing.
According to a statement issued by Sudan’s cabinet, Al-Badawi said economic reforms undertaken by the transitional government in the interest of the stability of Sudan, is hampered by  presence of Sudan’s name on U.S  list of state sponsors of terrorism.
The session which was hosted virtually  by the Atlantic Council- Africa Center, Washington, DC, on Tuesday, listened to interventions of three experts in Sudan affairs. However, The topics discussed included relations between civilians and military personnel, removing Sudan from the American terrorism list, and the role of regional actors in Sudan
