August 25, 2020 (Khartoum) Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdok
informed US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who arrived in Khartoum
Tuesday,that the transitional government does not have the right to
normalize ties with Israel.

Mike Pompeo who is on a tour in the Middle East ,came to Sudan from
Israel, where he met the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign
Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan,  at his office in
the Republican Palace.

Minister of Culture and Information, Faisal Mohamed Saleh, said that
the Prime Minister explained to Minister Pompeo that the transitional
phase in Sudan is led by a broad coalition with a specific mandate to
complete the transition period and achieve peace and stability in the
country, leading to free elections.

Al-Burhan met the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, at the
beginning of this year, in Uganda, and a senior Israeli official spoke
at the time that an agreement had been made to start the normalization
of relations between the two countries.

Hamdouk indicated that he discussed with Pompeo the situation in the
country, the path of the transitional process, bilateral relations
between the two countries, and efforts to remove Sudan from the list
of countries sponsoring terrorism.

During his meeting with US Secretary of State .the transitional
Premier  stressed that the Sudanese government attaches great
importance to the issue of protecting civilians in Darfur, and
provided an explanation of the process of establishing a security
mechanism to protect civilians in the region
