West Darfur state is considered one of the most active areas in the smuggling of fuel and strategic goods to neighboring countries.

The Darfur 24 correspondent from El Geneina reported that the markets of El Geneina witnessed a big jump in fuel prices, as the price of a barrel of gasoline rose from 24 thousand pounds to more than 50 thousand pounds after the subsidy was lifted.

While the price of a barrel of gasoline rose from 28,000 pounds to more than 55,000 pounds, at a time when the government set the official price for a barrel of gasoline 16470.
Jazeline 14,450 pounds.

For its part, the Petroleum and Transport Department at the Ministry of Finance and Manpower has set strict measures to control prices and limit fuel leakage into the black market and smuggling to neighboring countries.

Director of the Petroleum and Transportation Department, Muhammad Al-Fateh, said that his administration has put in place strict measures that will be implemented by a joint force of the security services.
