June 1, 2020 -South Sudan mediation team  said that negotiations between Sudan’s transitional government and Sudan revolutionary front(SRF) would resume on Tuesday.

However, head of  Mediation team  had earlier   announced  that June 20, would  witness the signing of final  peace agreement, between the Sudanese government and SRF.

“Negotiations will be held in Khartoum and Juba via video conference due to coronavirus restrictions” South Sudan mediation team said in a statement.

Speaking to Sudan News Agency(SUNA) Ahmed Nugud, chief SRF negotiator on Darfur track said,  talks are proceeding as planned and the final agreement will be inked ahead of schedule.

It’s worth noting that Peace process in Sudan, is the major challenge to the transitional government of   Prime Minister Dr. Abdallah who assumed power on August 21, 2019, following a  nationwide revolution that toppled dictator Omer Albashir.
