The capital of Central Darfur State, Zalengei has experienced 48-hour power outage due to electricity workers strike.

However,  Zalingei electricity workers  went on strike after they had been attacked  at their headquarters by anger mobs protesting  over power interruption in the city.

The workers have vowed not to resume work unless perpetrators are brought to fair trial.
Director of the Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure, Engineer Abdul Karim Yusef Othman, told Darfur 24that the electrical energy in the city is running at less than one megawatt, which covers only a
quarter of the city’s need.
