June 10, 2020-Two people were killed and one was seriously injured
after being shot by gunmen inside Kalma Camp for internally displaced
persons (IDPs) in South Darfur state,.
Kalma camp which is located 17 kms east of  Nyala, South Darfur, is
one of the largest IDP camps in Darfur region .
According to security sources, three people on four-wheel drive
vehicle, some of them possibly belonging to the Rapid Support Forces returning to the city of Nyala at  midnight on Wednesday, mistakenly
entered sector two of  Kalma  IDP camp, so an armed group opened
fire on the vehicle,  killing  two people and wounding one more.
It has been reported that the rapid support forces (RSF)  have
arrived in kalma camp for the displaced people  to maintain  secure
and order.
Meanwhile, a community leader from the camp, called  Yaqoub Mohamed
Abdallah, said that the situation has been tense inside the camp,
since the incident occurred at half past eleven  at night,  stating
that  UNAMID forces which responsible for securing the camp, moved to
the scene ,after hearing the shooting.
