El-Geneina, April 25,( Darfur24) The Executive Director of Kirenik locality in West Darfur state, Nasser Al-Zein, revealed the number of people killed in the recent tribal events that took place on Sunday.

Nasser al-Zein said in exclusive statements to Darfur 24 that the government authorities had counted 151 dead and 96 wounded in the events that took place in Karenak on Sunday.

He pointed out that among the dead were 17 children, including 4 brothers and more than 27 women, in addition to 4 killed from the attacking force, who were handed over to their families.

Kirenik city, 80 km east of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur, witnessed battles between Arab tribes and Masalit, against the backdrop of the killing of two herders last Friday at the hands of gunmen who fled into the city of Kirenik.
