Zalingei , Nov27(Darfur 24)On Monday, a convoy of humanitarian aid provided by the World Food Program arrived in Central Darfur State.

The official of the Catholic Relief Organization, Abbas Haroun, whose organization works in distributing aid in cooperation with the World Food Program, said that the convoy includes 34 trucks loaded with more than 1,190 tons of various foodstuffs that will be distributed to 54,000 families in Central Darfur.

Abbas explained that the food supply will be distributed in the areas of Roumantas, Sharq, Doha, Umm Shalayya, Qandarni, nomads and and Sudanese refugee camps in Chad.

The United Nations Deputy Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, Toby Harrold, called on the West Darfur government to secure the road linking the states of Central and West Darfur so that relief organizations can deliver humanitarian aid to those in need in Central Darfur.
