October 13, 2020 (Khartoum)The Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement JEM accused foreign  parties  which it did not name  of being behind the assassination of its leader, Dr. Khalil Ibrahim, in the year 2011
and did not rule out the existence of treason within the movement.

Former leader of Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), Dr. Khalil Ibrahim, was assassinated in December 2011 by an airstrike in Wadabanda area in North Kordofan State.

Head of the movement’s legislature, Al-Taher Adam Al-Faki, said in a press conference on Monday in Khartoum that a high-tech plane, which was not available to the Salvation Government, fired a missile that
hit the residence of the movement’s president, Dr. Khalil.

Al-Taher confirmed involvement of international parties in the assassination, in addition to treason among the members of the movement, which determined the leader’s location despite the tight
security measures.

Al-Faki indicated that his movement has opened an investigation about the incident, which is still ongoing, stressing that  information revealed  involvement of a foreign party in the operation, and that
his movement is withholding information, including phone calls monitored by the movement’s devices, that will be published upon completion of the investigations.
