November 15, 2020 (Khartoum) Federal Ministry of Health revealed a significant increase in Covid-19 cases on Thursday and Friday.
The ministry recorded 97 cases on Thursday and 128 on Friday, raising total number of infections to 14،626 since the pandemic first emerged in Sudan in March.
The ministry stressed the commitment to health requirements, including social distancing, masks wearing as well as washing hands thoroughly with soap and water or alcohol sanitize.
The Ministry had advised the High Committee for Peace Celebrations to be satisfied with the protocol and not to gather, justifying that because the second wave of Covis-19 is more fierce and cannot be confronted without the application and adherence to the guidelines and requirements.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Committee decided to celebrate the rally to receive the leaders of the movements that signed the peace agreement in Freedom Square. More than 200,000 participants are expected to arrive, as well as the Sovereignty Council, the ministers and the movement leaders.
