The federal delegation and protest organizers have agreed to end the month-long sit-in that brought the city of El-Geniena to stand-still.

The Khartoum delegation also reached consensus with protest leaders   to implement  protesters’ demands  within 21 days , including removal of  all roadblocks in the city.

Addressing protesters on a windy Saturday afternoon, head of the delegation, member of  Sovereign Council, Mohamad al-Faki, said , “We studied all the protesters’ demands that were mentioned in the memorandum and informed the center about them”

However, the furious protesters chanted slogans rejecting the agreement.

Al-Faki revealed that there are complications in dismantling the IDP camps at the present time – which is one of the main demands of the protesters – but he stressed the government’s commitment to implementing all demands of the protesters.

For his part, member of the Partners Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Rahim Dagalo, said the government has already begun to implement the demands of the protesters  starting with the security axis.

Spokesperson for the sit-in committee, Muhammadzin Idris, said that they have initiated the procedures and arrangements necessary to lift the sit-in, taking into account the humanitarian aspects of the state residents.
