On Saturday, the security forces used live bullets to disperse violent incidents in the city of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur, in the wake of an attack on a hostel of female students at El Geneina University.
Eyewitnesses told Darfur 24 that a masked person managed to enter the dormitory of female students at the Faculty of Medicine of El Geneina University on Saturday evening.
The eyewitnesses continued, “A large number of students arrived at the female students’ residence and closed the main road, a matter that led to the outbreak of violence between the youth of the surrounding areas and the students, causing a number injuries.
Meanwhile, security forces rushed to the scene and used live ammunition to disperse the protesters Our reporter from El Geneina said that the situation is still tense, at a time when some local leaders are trying to calm the situation.
