Omdurman, March 15( Darfur 24) Military sources reported that Sudanese army vehicles arrived, Thursday, at the Wad al-Bashir Bridge in Omdurman, where they established their bases there, nearly a year after the Rapid Support Forces gained control of the area.

According to “Darfur 24” sources, army forces arrived at the “Wad Al-Bashir” Bridge, south of the Alsouk Alshabi in Omdurman, and also took control of Madani Street and some lanes of the “Umm Badda” area along the Industries Street.

According to the observations of “Darfur 24”, the Rapid Support Forces continued their withdrawal successively from several locations in “Umbada” to the neighborhoods, and also withdrew from the vicinity of the “Mohandiseen” area towards Al-Salha and Al-Fatihab in the south.

Army supporters posted pictures and videos on social media of army soldiers inside Al-Marikh Stadium and under the Wad Al-Bashir Bridge.

During the past weeks, the city of Omdurman witnessed an accelerating retreat of the Rapid Support Forces from their positions of control in the neighborhoods of the Omdurman locality, most notably “Aburov, Bayt al-Mal, Wadnobawi, and Al-Mulazamin,” in the face of the advance of the Sudanese army, which extended its control over these areas.

On Tuesday, the Sudanese army announced its control of the radio and television headquarters in the city of Omdurman, ending more than 11 months of Rapid Support Forces control over the headquarters.

Three well-informed military sources revealed to Darfur 24 changes that affected the field leadership of the Rapid Support Forces in the city of Omdurman, after disagreements erupted over the management of operations.

The disputes began after a prominent field commander in the Omdurman region (AA) made sudden changes amidst the outposts facing the army areas in northern Omdurman under mysterious circumstances, which angered the soldiers, according to two Rapid Support sources.
