Darfur 24-Khartoum

A Sudanese court in Khartoum, has sentenced on  Monday,  Sudanese businessman Abdul Basit Hamza  who was linked to the late Al Qaeda founder Osama Bin Laden  to ten years in jail.

The well-known Sudanese businessman had accompanied al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden for a period of time during his stay in Sudan in the mid-nineties of the last century.

According to Al-Intibaha newspaper, the court convicted Hamza of  violating the money laundering and combating terrorism law, in addition to his violation of the law regulating dealing in foreign exchange.
