Darfur 24-Nyala
Seven students were killed and 59 others were injured in a traffic accident on Thursday.
However, the students were being transported from East Jebel Marra locality to Mershing, 85 kilometers north of Nyala, capital of South Darfur, to write Sudanese certificate exams.
One of the policemen who rescued the injured told Darfur 24 that 19 of the wounded were evacuated by plane due to the seriousness of their injuries, saying that bodies of the 7 dead were transferred to the city of Marsing for burial.
The policeman stated that the accident occurred when the driver of the lorry which was carrying the students tried to overtake the vehicle in front of him, causing it to veer off the road and overturned several times.
