July 15, 2021-(Khartoum)The Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council asserted , on Thursday, the need to devolve the facilities and property of the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in Darfur UNAMID to the citizens of Darfur.
This came when he met in Khartoum today a delegation from the United Nations headed by the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Field Support Atul Kari.
Daglo praised the great efforts exerted by UNAMID forces in maintaining peace and stability in Sudan and Darfur in particular.
For his part, Carey said that the First Deputy is satisfied with the progress resulting from the joint efforts between Sudan and the United Nations, and the schedules related to the withdrawal of the military and police components of UNAMID.
He congratulated Hemeti on the completion of Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan, stressing the support of the United Nations and its financing program for the ongoing economic and social development to return the displaced to their areas of origin.
