7.12.2021-The governor of the Darfur region, Minni Arko Minawi, accused unnamed parties of seeking to destabilize security and impede the advancement of the Darfur region.
Minawi said in a press statement today – Tuesday – that “you all followed the unfortunate, bloody incidents that began in West Darfur state, which claimed many lives . There is no doubt that there are hidden hands that do not want this region to settle and rise to conflict with their personal interests.”
He added “there was” a volley of fire” on a passenger vehicle yesterday, Monday, killing a number of people and wounding others near the Zamzam IDP camp 10 kilometers west of El Fasher, the capital of the region.
It is worth noting, , over the past few days, a number of cities and villages in Darfur witnessed inter-tribal violence and sporadic killings and looting, which killed more than 100 people in West and North Darfur states.
Minawi called on the citizens to show patience and restraint so that the issue does not escalate and dozens of deaths fall, adding: We must miss the opportunity for the enemies of peace and stability who live in the bloody atmosphere.
