31.12.2021 (Khartoum) On Thursday, security forces raided the premises of Al-Hadath and Al-Arabiya TV channels and attacked the channel’s staff .
According to the director of the channel’s office, Lina Yaqoub, security forces attacked the channel’s office and assaulted the channel’s employees.
“They physically and verbally assaulted my colleague, Nizar Bakdadi., “They told us that we embarrass them with media coverage”.Lina said.
She revealed that the assets of the office had been destroyed and the employees’ phones had been stolen, and that some colleagues had gone to hospitals to receive treatment. Two correspondents of the Saudi Al-Sharq channel, Maha Al-Talb and Sally Amman, were also threatened by security forces who raided the channel’s office.
The Sudanese Journalists’ Network condemned the excessive violence against journalists, considering the attack on the press a crime.
