Nyala, March 29 (Darfur24) Over 20 people were killed  as tribal fighting renewed  this morning between gunmen from the Rizeigat and Fallata tribes in the Hashaba area of Dimso locality in South Darfur state.

Community leaders from Rizeigat, al-Toum Jumaa told Darfur 24 that the tribal clashes left over 20 people dead  from both the warring sides.

 

A security source  preferred to withhold his name told  Darfur 24  that the state government sent joint forces to the areas that witnessed the tribal conflict to separate the two tribes, refusing to provide more information.

Meanwhile, the head of the Fallata tribe, Major Muhammad Al-Fateh Ahmed Al-Samani, told Darfur 24 that an attack was launched by gunmen on some areas of the Fallata tribe from the eastern direction of Tulus locality.

Al-Samani stated that the sound of clashes was heard in the areas of “Umm Balula, East Umm Balula, and Buridiyah”, and indicated that so far he does not have full details of the statistics of the dead and wounded.
