El-Fashir ,June 4(Darfur24) Local community leader  in Zamzam camp,
Omda Ahmed Nour, told Darfur 24 that they had received a report from
the Zamzam police stating that the looted trail of sheep had entered
the camp. He added that they actually tracked down the trail of the
sheep and found it in the possession of bruised people, and they
refused to hand them over.

Gunmen shot dead  a herder  east of the village of “Qlab” in the
vicinity of “Kolgi” area, south of Zamzam camp for the displaced
people  in North  Darfur, and looted 50 head of sheep.
Nour said that they informed the camp police of the threats they were
exposed to, by the people who were found in possession of the sheep.

The executive director of Zamzam locality, Ibrahim Ismail Nasr El-Din,
said that they knew the facts of the incident, and received threats
from the people of the dead man to attack the camp, if the
perpetrators were not arrested and the looted cattle returned.

The Executive Director stated that the government sent a military
force of 30 vehicles to protect the camp, in addition to its efforts
to defuse the crisis.

It is noteworthy that the road linking Zamzam camp and the city of El
Fasher has been repeatedly closed due to similar looting incidents,
the last of which resulted in the killing of two policemen last week.
