El-Geneina,November 8(Darfur24) The Epidemiology Department of the Ministry of Health in West Darfur state revealed the emergence of 5 cases of dengue fever and one case of chikungunya fever in El Geneina and Karinak localities.
The Acting Director of the Epidemiology Department at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mahasin Zakaria, told Darfur 24 that her department had recorded 5 confirmed cases of dengue fever and one case of chikungunya fever in the localities of Karinak and El Geneina.
On Sunday, the Federal Ministry of Health announced that 8 states had been affected by dengue fever, which are “North Kordofan, West Caravan, North Darfur, South Darfur, West Darfur, Red Sea, White Nile, and Kassala.”
The ministry stressed the importance of coordinating with the affected states to bridge the gaps
