Zalengie, December 29(Darfur 24)Three people were killed and others injured on Thursday as tribal gunmen   attacked a camp for  displaced people  in Zalingei, the capital of Central Darfur state.

 

Sources told Darfur 24 that the tribal violence was renewed on Thursday morning, against the background of the killing of a person yesterday, Wednesday, as a result of a quarrel between two people in  a roasted  meat  market in the city of Zalingei.

 

The sources stated that tribal gunmen launched an attack on Al-Hamidiyah camp in the city of Zalingei, leaving 3 dead and a number of  injured , adding that  gunfire were  still being heard in separate places in the city.

 

Darfur14 reporter said the local market, banks and government institutions  have  been closed as prosecution measures  to prevent  more violence.

 

 Meanwhile, the State Security Committee has been engaged in closed meetings since the morning, while reports indicated that security forces had moved from the city of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state, to the city of Zalingei, to contribute to containing the incidents.
