El-Daein, January 17(Darfur24) Darfur 24 learned from security and government sources that about 100 drug dealers, producers and promoters of cannabis drugs in Sudan had met three days ago in the presence of the head of the Dealers Union in Sudan and the head of the East Darfur branch, in one of the rich savanna forests of the Ferdous locality in the state of East Darfur, to oppose the government’s campaigns against the drug trade.
According to the government source, a meeting of senior dealers and promoters discussed how to protect convoys transporting drugs from the agricultural areas in Radom locality in South Darfur, passing through East Darfur and Kordofan, until reaching the capital, Khartoum.
However, cannabis drug smugglers always use motorcycles and four-wheel drive cars equipped with sophisticated weapons.
The conference of drug dealers and promoters comes as the first reaction to confront the campaign announced by the Sudanese government to combat drugs, and the efforts of the East Darfur state government to combat what the authorities call negative phenomena, including trafficking and abuse.
The border region of Radom between Sudan, Central Africa and South Sudan is one of the most producing areas for bingo drugs, where thousands of acres are cultivated in every agricultural season, while the Sudanese police forces organize every year a military campaign to eliminate the( bingo) farms.
It worth mentioning that every year armed confrontations take place between the police forces and drug promoters and dealers, usually leaves causalities from both sides .
In the year 2021 , 15 policemen were killed in an ambush set up by drug producers and dealers for a police force that was carrying out a campaign against drug producers in the Sinqo area of the Radom locality.
