El-Geneina , April 12(Darfur24) Death toll from tribal fighting in For Baranga locality, 185 km south of El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur state, has risen to 25, while the city is witnessing relative calm before an expected visit by the state governor today, Wednesday.

 

Acting Executive Director of For Baranga locality, Mohamed Hussein Taiman, told Darfur 24 that government authorities and security services began on Wednesday morning to collect the bodies of 26 dead from both sides.

 

While the city is witnessing relative calm, the security services are widely deployed in the streets and outskirts of the city.

 

Armed confrontations broke out between the Arab tribes and the Masalit in the Fubaranga area over  the past two days, leaving dead and wounded, and burning parts of the eastern neighborhoods of the city, in addition to the displacement of residents to the central and western neighborhoods of the city.

 

However, the tribal  conflict was triggered by  killing of two people in two separate incidents in mysterious circumstances.
