Khartoum, April 24(Darfur24)  On Sunday, the armed forces accused the Rapid Support Forces  RSF of attacking diplomatic missions during the evacuation of nationals of some countries from Khartoum.

 

The General Command of the Armed Forces said that the  RSF had several violations against diplomatic missions at night, as the diplomatic vehicle belonging to the Malaysian ambassador was stolen while he was shopping after he was unloaded from the vehicle and they escaped with it.

 

“Also, the rebel Rapid Support Forces attacked today the convoy of the Qatari embassy’s evacuation heading to Port Sudan, and looted their money, all their bags and mobile phones.” The army said

 

In addition to attacking the French embassy convoy with gunfire, which led to their return and disruption of the evacuation process.

 

In addition to the wounding of a Frenchman with a sniper bullet and attacking the mission headquarters in Burri neighboring .

 

In a statement, the armed forces condemned in the strongest terms this “barbaric behavior and inclination to violence, which is a characteristic of the Rapid Support militia before and after its rebellion, in the worst example of exploitation of power and money in the history of the country, and extends its highest condolences to the victims.”

 

There was no immediate comment from the aforementioned foreign missions and rapid support forces,  on what was reported by the Sudanese army.

 

On Saturday, the evacuation of nationals of a number of Arab and foreign countries began, as the Saudi Foreign Ministry announced in a statement that it had implemented “an evacuation operation from Sudan that included 91 Saudis and 66 foreigners from 12 countries, including diplomats and international officials.”

 

This comes amid renewed clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the vicinity of the presidential palace in the center of the capital, Khartoum, despite a declared humanitarian truce between the two parties for a period of 3 days on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

 

In the context, the Sudanese army, on Sunday, and the “rapid support” forces exchanged accusations of committing violations on the last day of the truce declared between them on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

 

On Friday evening, the Sudanese army announced in a statement its agreement to a 3-day ceasefire, hours after the “rapid support” announced its agreement to a truce in the fighting that claimed the lives of 413 people between 15 and 21 April, according to a statement by the World Health Organization.

 

It said in a statement, that the Sudanese army “strike the Rapid Support Forces in the Kafouri area with air strikes, and the attack included citizens’ homes, which led to the death and injury of dozens.”
