Khartoum, April 26(Darfur24) UNICEF revealed that 9 children were killed as a result of armed violence between the army and the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan.

UNICEF  media official in the Middle East, Ammar Ammar, told the international organization that nine children were among the dead and 55 young people were wounded in the clashes in Sudan since April 15. He added,

“This is the preliminary information  that came to us until Wednesday, while he expected the real number to be much higher amid the scarcity of basic supplies and information due to the fierce battles.”

Mr. Ammar emphasized that the humanitarian situation was catastrophic even before the current crisis, with more than three million children suffering from malnutrition.

He called for the establishment of a humanitarian truce and the provision of guarantees to relief organizations so that they can carry out their work and provide support for the most vulnerable people who languish at the (mercy of guns).
