A banker who preferred his name to be kept anonymous , told Darfur 24 that gunmen stormed the grand market of Nyala city, then looted huge amount of money from the banks and damaged the banks’ assets..
According to the banker, the looters targeted the bank of Khartoum, family bank and the Blue Nile El-masherg bank..

The city of Nyala witnessed deadly clashes two weeks ago between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, the armed looters took advantage of insecurity to break into central bank of Sudan and loot it, but the Sudanese army drove them away, using heavy machine guns.
A source affiliated with the Sudanese armed forces reported that snipers killed 37 gunmen while they were trying to loot the central market of Nyala city..
Nyala has 20 banks located in the middle of the central market in an area known as the “banks complex)
