Nyala, June 15( Darfur 24) It has been reported that the rapid support forces ( RSF) have captured the town of Rihaid Elbirdi, 160 kms West of Nyala، the capital of South Darfur state.
A four wheel drive vehicle transporter working in Rihaid Elbirdi-Nyala road who spoke to Darfur24 on condition of anonymity , said RSF affiliates entered Rihaid Elbirdi on Wednesday without any resistance from the Sudanese army.
“The native administration in Rihaid Elbirdi medicated between RSF and the Sudanese army,so that the latter could withdraw from the town to the neighboring city of Buram, paving way for RSF to capture the army garrison without bloodshed. Concluded the transporter ”
Last week , the paramilitary forces also entered the border town of Umkafouk, arresting 12 senior army officers and over hundred soldiers..
