Kadugli , May 1 (Darfur 24)

Unidentified gunmen opened fire on the representative of the Emirate of the Rawwaqa tribe, Prince Hamdan Ali Boulad, in front of his house, killing him instantly, while the perpetrators fled.

An eyewitness and one of the dead man’s neighbors told Darfur 24 that two masked people fired three fatal bullets at the prince when he was in front of his house in Kilimo in the city of Kadugli at around eight o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, killing him instantly.

He pointed out that the murdered civil leader was, as usual, sitting in front of his house after the sunset prayer, accompanied by his family and neighbors, checking on people’s conditions until the time for the evening prayer. He added that “on the day he was assassinated, he was sitting alone when unknown persons came and shot 3 bullets in his head, killing him instantly.”

He stated that the perpetrators fled towards the western mountain of the city, and the police have not been able to reach them yet.

Hamdan Boulad previously served as president of the Farmers Union in South Kordofan State, and was also head of the Umma Reform and Renewal Party led by Mubarak Al-Fadil.
