were shot by gunmen on Saturday night in Wakala neighborhood, in the center of
El Fasher in North Darfur. A joint force of the army, police and rapid support,
Sunday arrested two suspects of the incident in the southern checkpoint of

Eyewitnesses revealed to “Darfur 24” that the student Rifaat was killed and
another was wounded by two armed men wearing military uniforms in Alwakala
neighborhood in the city of El Fasher, explaining, that the reasons for the incident
were due to the fact that two gunmen tried to gain control over some of the
worshipers in Al-Fasher market, where a number of cell phones devices were
stolen at gunpoint.
The eyewitness added, that "during the chase, the gunmen began shooting live
ammunition and hiding near a house in the Alwakala neighborhood." He stated
that the martyr was on his way back from the club with his colleague, where he
was shot in the head, while his colleague was injured in one of his testicles, where
he was taken later to El Fasher Teaching Hospital to receive treatment.

A number of citizens in El-Fasher city denounced the incident, especially in
connection with the resumption of killings and looting within the city, while
worshipers in the Alwakal district complained that masked gunmen threaten
them after leaving the mosque and loot their mobile phones, calling on the
authorities to intervene urgently to resolve the matter.
