The Friendship Hall in the capital, Khartoum, will be hosting next
Saturday the conference on uniting eastern Sudan visions in respect to
“East Track” in Juba negotiations.

The three-day conference of eastern Sudan stake holders, is aimed at
coming up with a common vision for the people of the Eastern Sudan on
peace issues that are important for the region to achieve peace,
development, stability and social peace.

Speaking to reporters after the third meeting of the Preparatory
Committee for the Conference in the Republican Palace, on Sunday
January 5,2020, the member of sovereign Council , Prof. Seddik
Tawor, said that the meeting had focused on formation of a technical
committee to prepare for the scientific and logistical issues of the
upcoming conference as well as managing the dialogue, to come up
with constructive recommendations that serve the vision And
aspirations of the people of eastern Sudan in Juba negotiations.

“The committee is reassured of the progress, preparations and
arrangements of the conference” he added.

The Sovereign council member , expressed his hope for the success of
the conference, calling on all leaders and segments of society to take
part for the sake of peace in eastern Sudan.

The head of South Sudan mediation team, who is also adviser to
President of South Sudan for security affairs Tut Qalwak, had earlier
suspended negotiations after consultations between the Revolutionary
Front and the Sudanese government, in order to allow the Eastern
Sudan parties to hold an internal conference in Sudan within 3 weeks,
to resolve differences between components in the east.

Meanwhile, The leader of Beja Conference party in eastern Sudan,
Osama Saeed, stated late December that the eastern Sudan
framework agreement’s paper focused on economic, political and
security files.
