February 24, 2020 (Khartoum) The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan CBoS, Professor Badr Al-Din Abdel Rahim, announced today, Monday, that the bank is in the process of adjusting its current structure to become more effective, controlling and productive, stressing that the time has come to change the structure of the bank for the better.

Abdel-Rahim revealed, in a press statement that CBoS had requested technical support from the International Monetary Fund IMF, in the field of structuring, given the experience of the IMF in this field, stressing that the Central Bank of Sudan will work with the International Monetary Fund, so that it is commensurate with  the privacy and suitability of the Sudanese economy environment.

Professor Badr Al-Din said that the proposed structure by the IMF has nothing to do with the policies of the International Monetary Fund that it proposes for countries to implement, but rather technical support, pointing out that Sudan can adjust it according to its circumstances and privacy, categorically that these policies are not imposed on CBoS.

Abd al-Rahim indicated that CBoS has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Finance regarding transfers of expatriate resources through the grant and deposit mechanisms as an issue that the bank cares most about, stressing the need to strengthen relations with other countries to facilitate these procedures and open the door for expatriates to transfer their resources.
