March 11, 2020 (Nyala)Pharmacists in   Nyala,  South Darfur went on strike Wednesday, affecting all pharmacies in the city, with the exception of  emergency pharmacies in hospitals and clinics in Nyala.  The decision to go on strike  was taken  to protest against inspections carried out by the Consumer Protection Department of the municipality of Nyala on a number of pharmacies in the city, which resulted in the seizure of quantities of expired medicines.  A statement  by the Federation of Pharmacists in South Darfur state, said the  strike decision was taken to restore the dignity of pharmacists after individuals from the consumer protection departrment  , searched pharmacies and confiscated medicines on the pretext of  Drug date expiration.
