March 11, 2020 (Nyala)The Civil Aviation Authority has issued a statement, addressed to all airports in Sudan ,not to receive aircrafts coming from the State of Egypt until further notice.
The authorities have taken this step, within the framework of the precautions to prevent the transmission of Coronavirus to the country.
Meanwile, the Sudanese government decsion comes at a time when the World Health Organization WHO confirmed increase in the number of Cronavirus cases in Egypt.
In a realted development, the circulation of the bulletin came after a letter submitted by the authorities of South Darfur to the central government in Khartoum , requesting that Egyptian aircrafts carrying UNAMID peacekeepers should not be allowed to land at Darfur airports.
The second Egyptian plane was scheduled to land at the Nyala International Airport Wednesdy.
However , the landing of Egypt flight is widely rejected by Nyala community, fearing transmition of the disease to the country.

Moreover, activists gathered this morning at Nyala Airport, refusing the landing of Egyptian planes at Nyala Airport.
Some sources revealed that the aircraft which was suppose to land at Nyala airport had been diverted to Khartoum Airport, but sources from Khartoum Airport confirmed to Darfur 24 that the Egyptian plane did not land until this afternoon.
