March 16, 2020 (Khartoum) The Sudanese Security and Defense Council announced on Monday, the closure of all land and sea crossings,over fears of the spread of CONVID 19 epidemic.
spokesman for the Sovereign Council, Mohamed Al-Faki Suleiman, announced in a press statement that a supreme committee had been formed to put in place all the measures that prevent the disease from entering the country. “We have harnessed all health, security and logistical capabilities that help the committee to perform its duties” added Alfaki. Mohamed Al-Faki said the committee issued at its first meeting a decision to close all airports, ports and land crossings, with the exception of flights carrying aid, technical and humanitarian support, in addition to the scheduled air freight. However, Al-Faki warned that rumors should be handled with great caution and information should be obtained through official channels.
